Before you delete
What happens when you confirm
- You type the word DELETE to confirm — an intentional guard against accidental closure, and one that works whether you signed in with an email address, Google or Apple.
- Photo files stored under your account are removed from our storage bucket.
- Your profile record and its related interest, goal, and life-chapter rows are deleted.
- Your sign-in account is deleted, which ends your access.
What may remain for a period
- Copies inside infrastructure backups, until those backups expire on their normal cycle.
- Operational and security logs, which are redacted rather than tied to your profile, kept for their retention period.
- Records we are required to keep by law, or that relate to a safety issue, a report, or a legal claim.
- Anything another member has already saved outside the platform, which we have no ability to remove.
The other side of a conversation
If you were in a private conversation, the other member keeps their own side of it. Your name is replaced with "Community Member" and nothing explains why you are no longer here.
If you would rather not close it
You can pause your account instead. While paused, your pages are not shown to other members and nobody new can ask to connect. Nothing is deleted, and coming back is silent — we make no announcement that you are here again.
Accounts nobody is using
We keep a private marker of when you last signed in. It is never shown to another member: nu Avanti has no online status, no presence and no last-seen times. After about four months without a visit, an account stops being surfaced in discovery. After about a year it becomes eligible for closing, and we write to you about thirty days beforehand and once more about a week before. Signing in is enough to keep your account. These are the only notices we send about an unused account — there are no streaks and no reminders about what you have missed.
If self-service fails
Contact us and we will complete the deletion manually.
