The name
Why nu Avanti?
nu is our nod to new. Avanti is an Italian word with several meanings: forward, ahead, go ahead, and even come in.
Each one belongs here.
- Forward, because this isn't about starting over. Everything you've lived comes with you.
- Ahead, because there is still so much life in front of you.
- Go ahead, because sometimes the hardest part of what's next is giving yourself permission to begin.
- And come in, because you shouldn't have to figure out the next chapter alone.

nu Avanti is a social connection community for people 50 and over living abroad or planning their next move: friendships, travel companions, local groups, business networking, language exchange and, if it happens, romance. If you're 50 or over, you can join; there's no invitation to wait for.
Because life at 50, 60, and beyond deserves its own space. Our community is designed around real conversation and shared life experience, not fast swiping. Everyone here understands where you are in life.
Yes. Many of our members join months before their move so they can arrive with friendships and local knowledge already in place. Share your future plans and we'll connect you with people already there.
Absolutely. Most of our members are here for friendship, travel partners, and local community. You choose exactly what kind of connections you want. Romance is one option, not a requirement.
No. nu Avanti is not a dating app. Romance is one possible outcome among many, and it's completely opt-in. You can turn it off entirely and focus on friendships, travel, or your local community.
You control what you share. We do not plan to display street addresses, and we intend to show your location to other approved members only at the level you choose (city, region, or country). These controls are still being built ahead of launch.
You confirm for yourself that you're 50 or over. To be clear: we do not run background checks or criminal-record screening, we do not verify anyone's age or identity, and we cannot confirm that any member is who they claim to be. Our Safety Center explains how to protect yourself.
