Community Guidelines

Internal Review

nu Avanti is intended to be a calm, respectful place for adults 50+ building a life abroad. These guidelines describe what we ask of every member. They work only if members hold each other to them.

What we ask of you

  • Be who you say you are. Use a recent photo of yourself and describe your circumstances accurately.
  • Lead with respect. People here come from many countries, cultures, faiths, and backgrounds.
  • Take no for an answer. If someone stops replying, leave it there.
  • Keep other people's information private. Do not forward messages, photos, or details without permission.
  • Do not ask members for money, financial help, investment, or account details, and do not offer them.
  • Keep commercial activity out of member conversations unless the other person has invited it.

Where we draw the line

Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, sexual content involving anyone who has not consented, impersonation, and financial solicitation can lead to removal from the community. We assess reports on the information available to us and act proportionately.

Acceptable Use Policy

Our part, and yours

We work to build a platform that supports good behaviour and gives you tools to protect yourself. We cannot see every interaction, we do not read private messages routinely, and we cannot vouch for any member's intentions. Your own judgement remains your best protection.

Safety Center

When something is wrong

Tell us. A report gives us context we would not otherwise have, and it is the main way problems reach us.
